Hi! My name is Laura and I am a general health psychologist. But beyond that label I am human like everybody else.
I graduated in psychology in Madrid ( Complutense University of Madrid). Since I finished, I haven’t stop developing and training myself in different fields.
I moved abroad for a while, to a fairy-tale city, Edinburgh. I worked there for the first time. Learnt a new language and what the real difficulties were, working with people with disabilities. Later I returned to Spain and worked in Gibraltar as a trainer in an international health company and as an activity coordinator for a Dementia centre. Years later, I moved again and started working in an international centre for eating disorders in Altea and in a day hospital treating adolescence and adults.
I have worked in various environments and have dealt with very different problems. Which has enriched me professionally, as well as making me realize where my true strengths lie in therapeutic accompaniment.
In my work I use a human approach accompanying my clients to find peace and well-being. My way of working is based on an integrative orientation, including cognitive behavioural therapy, and third generation therapies like acceptance and commitment therapy. Always adapted to the needs of each client.
Empathy, self-compassion, and acceptance are important keys in my accompaniment to improve the quality of life. Learn to identify our emotions, thoughts, patterns, learn how to be aware of them and make space for them in a gentle way.
My goal is to provide my clients with the appropriate tools, helping them to find the source of their discomfort and encouraging the development of new skills and strategies that allow them to face their difficulties in a more adaptive way.
I am currently specializing in eating disorders. It is a world that I am passionate about. I will help you to create a healthy relationship with food, yourself and your body. Always with care love and respect.
It will be a pleasure to accompany you in this therapeutic process.
